Why we chose our topic
The topic we chose for History Fair this year was the 19th Amendment. The 19th Amendment states that "The right of citizens of the United States to vote shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any State on account of sex." In easier terms, the government made it official in 1920 that Women could vote. Before this was ratified Women basically had no rights. They were made to sit at home and do house work. They couldn't vote, they couldn't own land, the men had all the power over them. And they fought to change that.
