August 18th, 1920 was a great day for Women across America. They had been given the right to vote.
This is an important turning point in History because if this amendment had never been ratified, where would we be today? Only men could vote? How would our society function? Imagine life without the 19th Amendment. I'm sure most women can't.
Without this amendment, women would not be able to do most things they do today. One of the most important things being voting, it was definitely needed. The brave woman that stood up for all women nationwide are truly an inspiration to the both of us.
Every women who took a stand for Women's rights and suffrage deserves recognition. Because, without them, it would've been nearly impossible.
As young girls, this Amendment doesn't necessarily apply to us yet. But once we turn 18, we will be able to vote. I know personally, that is something I look forward to. The day I can help decide who will be president over our nation.
